In the Vineyard

I hope as you read this you are enjoying the beginning of the nicer weather that we are sure must come. The growing season continues to lag about two weeks behind, but the vineyard is looking lovely and the intermittent sunny days are producing very nice shoot development. We’re still a couple of weeks away from bloom, but the foliage is very clean and developing nicely. It looks like a nice sized crop, although in the days to come we will of course be thinning the developing fruit in order to focus the vineyard’s energy on less fruit for higher quality.

Memorial Day Weekend

Thanks to the many of you for joining us at our recent Memorial Day Weekend event at 12th & Maple in Dundee. Chuck and I really enjoyed being able to chat with you. We hope you enjoyed your weekend of wine-tasting, and the opportunity to share our offerings from our own little piece of paradise in Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton District. We felt proud and honored by the many lovely comments we received and by the interest shown by those in attendance.

We asked our small daughter Barbara (Bobbi), the Barbara of Barbara Thomas Wines, to conduct the drawing for the winner of our Wine Basket raffle. So without further ado...

The winner was Yael Garfinkle! Congratulations Yael, and many thanks to everyone for participating in the raffle, and for joining our mailing list.

New Wine Club!

As promised, and by popular demand, we are now offering a very flexible wine club to our friends who prefer the convenience of automatic shipment of fine wines. When you join our club we will send you 12 bottles of wine each year on a schedule of your choosing. Or, simply order a case of our Pinot Noir, and you can begin to enjoy the benefits of membership immediately. What a great way to become acquainted with our wines, or to restock your cellar. Come check it out.

New Tasting Room!

We were recently presented with a wonderful opportunity that we simply couldn’t turn down! Friends of ours, Byron Dooley of Seven of Hearts Wine and Dana Dooley of Honest Chocolates, have offered to share space with us at their location at 217 West Main Street in Carlton, Oregon. We are excited beyond all reason to be able to partner with them, and will be open for Carlton Fun Days, our local community celebration, on Saturday, June 28th, from 11-5. We also plan to be open throughout the summer. We hope you’ll join us!

New Distributor!

And finally; we are also very excited to announce that we have forged a new relationship with Bob Sawicki of the Tamalpais Wine Agency to represent us and our wines in California. Not only is Bob a great guy to work with, but he has years of experience in the industry, and is looking forward to placing our wines at fine restaurants and wine shops throughout the state.

Anticipated opening of our Tasting room in Carlton. We are working out licensing details now. Please check back for updates.

Friday and Saturday, July 4th and 5th, 11-5pm
Tasting Room open with Seven of Hearts Wine.

Saturday, July 12th, 3-8pm
Historic Deepwoods Estate Annual Wine and Food Festival. Join us for wine, gourmet food and jazz in Salem, Oregon. Featuring the Matt Schiff Trio and Blue Gardenia Jazztet.

Saturday, August 2nd, 11-8pm and Sunday, August 3rd, 11-6pm
Carlton’s Walk in the Park. Now in its 5th year, this fun event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Last summer’s event hosted 65 artists and exhibitors and greeted nearly 4000 visitors. As always, all profits benefit local area charities.
