Welcome to Barbara Thomas Wines. We’re glad you’re here!

Wow, this summer seems to have flown by. We're through color change and looking forward to a long Oregon Indian Summer to bring the grapes to full ripeness.

We poured our 2005 Pinot Noir at Carlton’s Walk in the Park August, 4th and 5th. It was very well received and we want to thank everyone who stopped by and tried the wine, especially those who bought some after tasting it, the highest praise.

We have been working with Josh Bergström as our winemaker since the 2005 vintage. As Josh and his family have continued to grow and become even more successful, though, they have run out of time and space for custom crush clients. Josh graciously consented to continue working with us until our winery was built, or until we found another winemaking solution, and we initially expected to work with him for the 2007 vintage

However, we have found another winemaking solution sooner than expected in gifted winemaker Aron Hess, who will be crafting our wines for the 2007 season. We first worked with Aron in 2002 when, as the winemaker for Rex Hill, he agreed to purchase our vineyard fruit. Aron had worked with the fruit from our vineyard before we bought it in 2001 and he knows the site and fruit well. Since our winery still only exists on paper, Aron will be making the wine at the 12th and Maple Wine Co., where he heads production and serves as consulting Winemaker to a number of custom crush clients. Perhaps more importantly, especially to us as loyal customers, Aron and his wife Pam Walden own Daedalus Cellars and also produce wine under their Jezebel label.

While we are feeling sad and a little nostalgic to be parting company with Josh and the Bergström Winery, we are excited and very pleased to be able to work with Aron.
