Ah, the peace of Autumn in wine country. The crop is in, the fermentations are active, the field is shedding its leaves in a glorious display of color. And all of this is none too soon, too, as the rains have arrived in earnest!
All in all, this year’s fruit looked absolutely beautiful! We waited until the very last moment to harvest, and our wait paid off with luscious, full-flavored Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris fruit with nice sugars and great balancing acidity. For the first time, we are also keeping our Riesling and plan to offer both an Alsatian style and a dessert style Riesling this coming Spring. Stay tuned for more info on these as the winter progresses.
